Fu.M.O. 51 Mammut Gustav

#1

Post by jopaerya » 26 Dec 2011, 13:15

Hello

A Santa Claus brought me a map with two new Fu.M.O. 51 placed on it . We know the one at Cap de la Heve
(with bunker) and La Pernelle , the two new one's are at naval radarpost Plaimpol and Le Conquet ( St Mathieu ) .
So far we have four Fu.M.O. 51 Mammut Gustav .

Jos,

I don’t want to play the Grinch but in « Atlantikwall : Mythe ou Réalité » Alain Chazette already indicates a Mammut G FuMO 51 at Po32 (Pointe de l’Arcouest), next to Paimpol, and another one at Re503 (Kerlohic), next to Le Conquet.

Hi Etienne

Here a drawing of the radar with the concrete base from F. Trenkle ( Die deutschen Funkmessverfahren bis 1945 )
A other thing is that Po 32 is not a naval W.n./Stp. are there any photo's known of the Bretagne Mammuts G. ??
and are there any traces in Re 503 ??

Jos,

In the "purple" book, Alain mentions Po32 as a Kriesgmarine Station manned by a unit of 1./3 Funkmess-Abteilung. :?

Hello Emmanuel

Everything is possible , but if you see this map all red circle's are
Heer Stp./W.n. and the blus one's are Kriegsmarine W.n. or Stp.
So this would mean 30a , 33 and 33a

What is very strange is the number Re 503 should be a Luftwaffe W.n./Stp.
the Kriegsmarine Stp/W.n. are in the range 300 till 499 .
