In the Channel Islands there are also square tobruks (looking a bit like the one posted by Alex) but these are not prefab.

On the page before this there are a few examples of tobruk build in brick/stone and a upper deck from concrete.
Does anyone seen these tobruks in Belgium or Holland , I know Tim never found then in Holland :D

Jos, Yes we have.
In Wn.236 H. on Goeree there are two Tobruks that are made just like they made the normal bunkers with a concrete floor and top the walls are made of bricks (not shure if these are bricks all the way or just brick walls and concrete in between).
But keep in mind the Tobruks are made by normal bricks and not Formsteine as on the photo's, and they are built like a genuine 58c and not square in form.

Hello Jos

I know 2 places in Belgium where you can still find ringstand build up with bricks: Lissewege in KVA2 (still 2 bricks tobruks visible today) and Ramskapelle in KVA3 (1 ringstand).
These are very early ringstand, probably from 1941 or early 1942 because the position in Lissewege (first emplacement Stp E687) was abandonned in October 1942 for another one further away and the one in Ramskapelle (Stp 6./AR 139) was abandonned as well after February 1943.

Thanks Pierre

There is in Wn. Boelcke ( North Beveland ) one tobruk with brick as walls, according to the BRV there was also one
Wn. Alarich also in North Beveland. It looks the brick walls are thicker then the "normal" 40 cm walls for a tobruk ??

Hi my German friend,
I can't proof it of course , but on other pictures the tobruks at WN 66 really look like concrete. This small observation post is most likely also made of concrete..
The tunnels behind were brick

Design for eastern front 1943. Ringstand made of bricks and prefab concrete beams. A makeshift version for trenches?
