Maybe the wheels of a siege mount being applied.

It appears a bit different than the Garrone siege mount http://www.italie1935-45.com/forum/view ... =34&t=3203

You can see here the Di Stefano mount: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/305/17
Yes, Dili. We have the following mounts/carriages for the 305mm Obice da 305/17:

M1914 coastal turrets
Garrone M1915
Garrone M1916
Garrone M1917
De Stefano

but none of these matches with the mount/wheels of my photo..... :?

In the book "Le artiglieria del Regio Esercito nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale" of Filippo Cappellano, is cited a "Stampacchia" mount of 1918 but I have never seen any photo of this....

Hi all,

I found this image on Ebay. It seems a design or mock up of an Ansaldo 15cm howitzer...

That has a too very long tube to be an obice. Can only be a canone.

Hi all,

I found these two images on Ansaldo archive.
I think 149mm Cannone da 149-40 Mod.1935 barrel trailers but...the distance between both axles seems very short... :? ...Any idea ??

Hi all,

Here, an image from Ebay: 305mm Obice da 305-17 howitzer, but my question is: Was this image taken during WW1 or during interwar period.
I am not expert in uniforms...

Hi all,

I need help with this howitzer. First I thought in a 105mm Obice da 105/14 Mod.1918 but the barrel not match.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obice_da_105/14

The only other option I can think is an 149mm Obice da 149/12 Mod.1918 but I am not sure... :?

Somebobdy ?

Sturm78,

I agree: 149mm Obice da 149/12 Mod.1918. The curved shield is a characteristic of the Modello 1918.

Hi Emmanuel

Here, an image of 149mm Obice da 149/12 Mod.1918 from Wikipedia.
The text said "This model can be identified by the two seats for the gun crew on the tail of the carriage and the new curved gun shield"

Well, the shield seems match but the howitzer of my image don´t have the two seats for the gun crew on the tail of the carriage....

Hi Sturm78,

I would not be surprised if the two seats were removed when the gun was placed in firing position. The seats were in the way when loading the gun.
