Bunkers in YUGOSLAVIA
Bunkers in YUGOSLAVIA
These are just a few bunkers around my town (Novi Sad) on the Danube (Republic of Serbia), incorporated in the fortification of the 18th century (Petrovaradin fortress). Built by the army of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia before World War II (1938-1941).
Red star: known locations of bunkers; Green star: unknown lokation of bunker (present military base)
Type of bunker MG-12 (machine-gun nest/митраљеско гнездо) - upstream view
Same bunker - downstream view

Re: Bunkers in YUGOSLAVIA
Hi Micoviny,
Are these in any way related to the fortifications of the Czechoslovakia and Romania, which were also part of the Little Entente?
Both followed the French Maginot exampole by building fortified lines on their borders in the Sudetenland, southern Slovakia and Transilvania during the late 1930s.
Perhaps Yugoslavia followed the same course as its allies?
Cheers,
Sid.

Sid,
Somehow... I found information that the engineers of the Yugoslav army, together with the Romanian and Czechoslovak went to France for training.

Re: Bunkers in YUGOSLAVIA
You talk about second drawing?! Yes... According documents from Military archive in Belgrade, completion of all works was scheduled for year 1946. So, we don't have them.jopaerya wrote:Hi Micowiny

But, the Germans were kind enough to leave their own examples of military architecture.
Blockhouse (Sremska Kamenica)
