I like the designation 6-S WaKoFest Malcolm! Actually they were pre 632s right?

Don't know, you call them 6-S WaKoFest on Bunkersite :milwink:
I would say the 4-S WaKoFest (La Mare Mill on Jersey etc) is a pre-runner of the 632 but 20p7 turrets were used.

Rudi Rolf identified the 6-S WaKoFest as Type 632 (prob due to their layout being a bit like a 632) but they mounted a 20p7 turret which had a 360 degree field of fire. Also the designation 'WaKoFest' would fit as they all have observers open positions set at 45 degrees to its entrance as like on the Unterstand-WaKoFest and 4-S WaKoFest. All other Regelbau have the observers open position set at a 90 degree (631,633 & Jäger) in the C.I.

3 were constructed with all being on Jersey and are located at Wn. Düne (photo below), Wn. Steps Punkt 43 and Wn. La Thiebaud.

Malcolm :milwink:

I actually meant the ones at Düne Steps and La Thiebaud to be forerunners. If you join the two rooms you almost have a 632.

I would say they were planned to be a 6-Sch from the start as they are placed in areas needing a 360 degree field of fire. The SK Jäger casemate at Stp. Etacquerel which also incorporates a 20P7 also has the same turret room layout as the 6-S WaKoFest do and also had a 360 degree field of fire. . . . yet the turret room layout is the same as Dirk's 632 plans for a 3 Sch turret :o :?

On Guernsey the only Sch. Standard Type (mounting a 20p7) was the 4-S WaKoFest and in all cases these are placed into an anti-tank wall or on the beach edge to engage the enemy on the shore line (Hauptkampflinie)

There are designs from Wa.Ko.Fest. with a 90 degree C.I. Beobachter. Are you sure they're all 45?

Hi Nectar,

The Wa.Ko.Fest. Unterstand (Jersey, Guernsey & Alderney), 6 Sch. (as the plan above) and the 4 Sch. bunker (as at La Mare Mill on Jersey and the 4 examples on Guernsey) have the observers open position set at 45 degree to the rungs for accessing it as in the 2nd and 3rd photos below

The other bunker types which have observers open positions (Jäger casemates on Jersey & Guernsey, the Early Type 633 and also the 631b's on Jersey) have them set at 90 degree as in the first photo below.

Observers open positions also never have a voice tube conection to the crew room, only a telephone socket.

(2nd and 3rd photos are from bunkersite)

Regards,
Malcolm :milwink:

Here's an american plan of a 632, don't know if it's redrawn from a German plan but it looks like it was in Cherbourg somehwere, because of the extra wall in front of the entrance.

Hallo Jos and arthur and others
Because of familyproblems i m not at home the last few weeks and i ll think i must stay another few weeks at the last with my parents
but i have the time to make my field drawnings from the last year and you can expect some nice plans here in the future
The Dreischartenturms from kernevel and Brest etc
all have already been made
The moment i find the time i ll scan them and post them here
Dirk
