Post by dirk Peeters » 17 Jan 2013, 13:34

We have made an investigation
First we have this document
00.jpg
here we see clearly indicated that the openings for munition has to made in the M 270 not straight
as with the M 170

an M 170 has two versions
an old one and a new one
The old one has the openings horizontal
thats like this

1 1 gavres.jpg (43.65 KiB) Viewed 3339 times
It has the horizontal opening or passage
in the same bttr is the second version or the newer type

In the Bttr Gi 307 we have the two versions ,
one the M 170 there
6 1 Gi 307.jpg
6 1 Gi 307.jpg (70.96 KiB) Viewed 3333 times
and the M 270
6 2 Gi 307.jpg
Why do we say the vertical openings are the modern ones
Well each M 270 has vertical openings
and as we know the M 270 is the newer version of the M 170 we can say
the M 170 with horizontal openings are the first M 170
and the second version of the M 170 has vertical openings

some photos
Brommy
7 2 Brommy.jpg
Bttr MI
8 2 Bttr M1.jpg
StP Dresden
9 2 Dresden 106.jpg
so we see clearly the M 270 have all vertical openings for the munition
Who has info of danemark , Holland and Norway ?
can we say this goes for all the Atlantikwall or only for France
your opinions please

Also as we look in the books of Rudy Rolf (typologie we can see the same
straight openings for M 170 and not straight for the M 270 ....

It looks more safe. From big wide openings, to narrow openings, to narrow openings placed in an angle so no direct hit possible into the ammunition room.

Hanstholm I, M 170? don't have more inside pictures, but it looks like two different openings.

Maybe you can correct me on the type numbers in my list Dirk.
