Hello Jos,

There are very few casemates with curve todt front on the Sudwall, so in my opinon it is the Espanet Battery Rhl068. If I'm right, the guns are 13,8 K.M.24 K.L/40 under M270.

Very nice pics !

Bye

The gunshield is very typical ,but it looks a lot like the 13.8 cm K.M. 24 (f)
both picture's in the book Sudwall have no camouflage nets .

Here is a picture of a French 138,6 mm Mle 1924 gun with the typical shield mentioned by Jos:

I am getting confused by the German designations of the French 138 mm Mle 1910 gun (aka 14 cm Mle 1910 or 138,6 mm Mle 1910 depending on the French Navy designation of the period) and the 138 mm Mle 1924 above.

Among various sources, we can find 13,8 cm K10 (f), KM10(f), KM/24(f) (with a “/”) and some more.

From Jos above, KM 24(f), without « / », would mean the 138 mm Mle 1924. But Eax-E also indicates 13,8 K.M.24 K.L/40.

Any explanation ? :?
