HKB Westende 3./826
Hello,
On the website http://www.atlantikwall.tk/ you can already find a nice photo-overview of the remains of this coastal battery shortly after the clean-up of the infamous 'camping "Cosmos"' which was located for many years in the middle of the former HKB. Due to this 'extreme make-over' (= the cleaning up of the former campingsite) the photo's on this link show a desolate landscape... over 2 years later now, nature had the time to reclaim her property, also (for once) the environmental gouvernment chose not to put the remaining bunkers inside the off-limits nature reserve, thus the bunkers can be visited freely although the bunkers themselves are not accessible and sealed off with a metal fence (some of which have already been removed by possible bunkerfanatics or perhaps vandals...)
So let me take you on a tour on a sunny day through the HKB Westende...
But before kicking off with my photo-overview, here's something I've found in the wellknown Leitstand of the HKB... I wonder; didn't anyone notice this before me?? Searching the net and the many wellknown bunkersites I can't find any mentioning/photos.

an even smaller find in the same leitstand-bunker;
a bit of remaining yellow (and possibly green) camouflagemarkings near one of the observation slits

Hello Jean,
In one of the 6 wellblech personal bunkers of this position, you find also a nice fresco in the entrance.

I also encountered this one, Pierrot,
sadly the bunker itself isn't accessible to have a closer look; photo was shot through the metal fence (on the otherhand; luckily this bunker is still closed of to prevent more graffiti on the walls.
I do wonder if there are more drawings or texts to be seen inside the main bunkerroom?
If I'm correct, the text reads "Ja Herrgodts händen liegt dies Haus, Böse Geister, kehren aus" In my opnion not the most correct German spelling, but perhaps an old German saying in early-German language.
This would mean as much as; "In God's hands lays this house, evil spirits, stay out/dissapear from here" ... a very superstitious German lived here I guess.
