Why not. Dunkelgelb (RAL 7028) was a normal color used a lot by the Germans.Ammunitionbunker wrote:From the below photos, one can tell as well, as bunker doors were surely not yellow in colour.
Re: German WW2 Type M145 Ammunition Bunker
Speerbatterie Frederikshavn was equipped with 4x15cm SK L-45 ex Niels Juel guns. So not at all a problem for a gun crew to move the ammunition by hand! Don't think the shell size had anything to do with the door design. Think it only depended of what was in stock at the local Pioneer depot at the time.Ammunitionbunker wrote:Hello Tonnes,
Many thanks for your encouraging works. As a matter of fact that is the kind of door I've seen on the net, but obviously the other side.
Just per curiosity. What was the calibre of the ammunition stored in the M145 of Speerbatterie Frederikshavn?
I don't know if I am right on this; Could the size of the ammunition, have a bearing on the design of the doors?
One more interesting question.
How was the ammunition and the charges, stored, handled and then loaded on to the truck or carriage - by hand?
The other M145's in DK only had wooden doors bye the way. (If my memory serves me right )

Re: German WW2 Type M145 Ammunition Bunker
Good morning all,
Thanks to all of you. You have been very helpful indeed. You guys are very lucky to live there, as you have easy access to these sites and information. But for me, stranded on this little island, I will have to get at least 2 to three aircraft flights, to see an M145, so I have to rely on what I can find in the internet, and with the help of you fine guys.
I plan to make my wish come true. I plan to come over in 2015, spend 15 to 20 days, just to visit these sites.
My next project after the M145 is the R608 command bunker.
Shall be posting more progress pictures next week.

Re: German WW2 Type M145 Ammunition Bunker
Hello all,
This M145 ammunition bunker shall be housing 17cm shells and cartridges. can anyone post some pictures of these shells!
I am interested in the finish colour of these shells, as there were different types and the wording on the shells.
Thanks

If you want thereis 2 x M145 at Gi307 easily accessible , without doors but with original paint
Can I make a remark, on your AA bunker, you don't make niches for munitions ?

Re: German WW2 Type M145 Ammunition Bunker
Bonjour JF,
Many thanks for the info, will surely visit the bunker in 2015.
As for the AA Bunker. The gun emplacement is not ready yet. I still have to cut out the ammunition niches, and the recessed shelves, where they used to place the helmets and other equipment.
By the way.
Every gun emplacement had it's communication line and telephone - Am I right?
Every open gun emplacement had some sort of lighting - Am I right?
If so - Can anyone upload any pictures? It would be of great help for me, to do it right first time.

Hello Dirk,
Thanks a lot for your kind interest. I would be very happy if you could post some pictures of the internal views of the M145. The niche located at the entrance was intended for the installation on the main electrical switch. Am I right?

Re: German WW2 Type M145 Ammunition Bunker
Hello Dirk,
Many Thanks.
I recall a picture of the niche, with remains of electric cable, so that is why, I am of the opinion that the electrical lighting switch was located outside. It make sense, when putting in mind that the bunker housed ammunition. I would also assume that the light fittings inside the bunker were of the explosion proof type.
Many Thanks.

Re: German WW2 Type M145 Ammunition Bunker
Is there a possibility that there are two versions of the M 145?
a smaller one ?
one is 40 cm smaller in the middle room normally 390 cm
the one at Gi 307 is here only 3m50 ... That is a difference with 40 cm ... it can be an measuring error
