Both answer and question are in your sentencebut it s a small error why do you (Arthur) give this detail from a very old book that is very good
the books of Desquensnes are very good and for the period of this book these plans are very good

Re: Commandposts La Pernelle and St Adresse
and as we can see Y Rose and Desquesnes have used the plan of SHM (with stairs ....) which we always say .... use with care
here you can see for yourself what has happened with all the french writers who uses frequently the SHM archives and SHM Drawings ... simply a statement please do not attack this old books
The writers have used info in that period what was the best available
Don t forget no one took measurments , The first in France was Jacky Laurent (which was my mentor) in the early eighties

Don't worry I do not have the habit to criticize books. I let you this field. Edit : and what happens just after this message...
@ Kurt : you are right, but I can't let someone walk all over me.

Re: Commandposts La Pernelle and St Adresse
and here we have a recent book where we see this old plan of Desquesnes and SHM so .... no one has ever even try to verify these shm drawings
Livre Rose 1995
Livre Chazette 2011
This is thirty years that these old SHM drawings with stairs survive in each book
Not bad
Thanks for this forum that we all work together to change and correct it

We can see that the plan of Y Rose is the most perfect one
he must have visited this blockhaus
We ll search more photos of this bunker

Dear Friends,
As I remember when I visited the one in Fort de Sainte Adresse, the entrance should have stairs but it was full of earth and impossible to measure easily.
Best regards from Le Havre,
Sébastien

Re: Commandposts La Pernelle and St Adresse
I don t criticize no book at all ....
just let every one sees how the SHM plans are always used and newly drawn like by Bernard Paich
That is no critic at all
the only thing what is to blame is the first SHM drawing ... these are al the times copied because the writers think they have good plans...
Now this is why we measure each and every bunker ..... for correcting these errors
And by the way that last book of Alain is very good ...
here aditional pictures of this leitstand (taken in 1994) we ll continue this job without attaking anyone
Hope to end with a good drawing ...

Re: Commandposts La Pernelle and St Adresse
The problem with the plans of the SHM, it is because these were made for a given place and serve for several places the same bunker will have a staircase or will have no staircase (as 501) but there is the same type
I did not enter that of Pernelle (question of security and I possess two plans with and without staircases
AC

Re: Commandposts La Pernelle and St Adresse
There are more problems with this bunkerplan from SHM
I m trying to design this one with the written measurements from SHM and it doesn t work
but when i m seeing the work from S Haule and rectify some with his measurements it sticks
It is simply a matter of calculation
Walls have to be 2 meter at each side, and not as on the SHM plan 1 m 50 on the frontal (enemy side)
SHM gives 8 m 50 but it must be 9 meters (as wit the Le Havre plan
the interior rooms also have some errors 2 meter (SHM) is in reality 2 m 40
You and Bernard Paich did draw this bunker on computer for your book ... it s impossible to draw this one with the SHM measurements
But in a few moments i ll scan the good plan for you all
