According to the caption, this gun was used to destroy 13 Soviet tanks.
I am curious how to can recognize a 76,2 mm ZIS-3 (7,62 cm FK288(r)) from a 57 mm ZIS-2 (5,7 cm Pak 208(r)) on this picture.

Hi Jos
I think they are Italian, the man at the rear of the gun appears to be wearing an Alpine hat with a feather, and the helmets look more Italian than Slovakian.
Is the gun a Zis-3 or a Zis-2, the barrel looks long and slender?

Thank you very much Clive

Looks like a long thin barrel indeed, but I have never seen a wartime pic of a Zis2 with muzzle brake. But I am no Soviet artillery expert. Could there be some snow on the barrel still?

Snow on the barrel, that thought crossed my mind as well. Hence me questioning was it a Zis 2 or Zis 3? I didn't think about the muzzle brake.
