Hi Jos

Could it be a Cannone da 152/37 in service with the Italian coastal artillery? http://www.landships.info/landships/art ... cles.html#

Hi Clive,

The back of the photo reads "am kanal" which to my mind reads as the "English channel".

Thoughts on this are welcome :)

The picture was taken in the Le Havre Bléville area, close to the future location of MKB Le Havre. It is far away from the shore so the 1st picture with the camouflaged gun cannot have been taken there.

There is a long article (in French) on this 3./778 battery written several years ago by Alain Chazette in the French Magazine 39/45 No. 234 with a lot of pictures and maps. But there are no pictures of a gun of the 3./778 with a camouflaged paint like the 1st picture above.

Hi Guys,

I you look at the carriage of the photo posted by Jos yesterday 19 June 2014 (inlcuding the wheels) you will see that the carriage has a camo scheme that is basically the same as that on the photo posted at the beginning of this thread. Only the barrel has been repainted into a single colour.

Best,
Nezar
