Re: Panther Bodenturm
Thanks for sharing Andrzej.
The turret has no camouflage and seems to be still fixed to its wooden transportation sled. Maybe one of the (at least) 7 Panthertürme at Küstrin, which were never installed?
greetings Lars

Re: Panther Bodenturm
The turred is already on (battle?)field so it had been moved of the road and planted on position.Lars Bertelsen wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 21:29Thanks for sharing Andrzej.

It looks that rectangular body was covered with wooden planks or foliage to blur sharp edges of it's shape.
This is how it looks for me - the quality of the photo could be better....

Well,
What I can see, is a frame, you can see through it, only dark place is a turret basket in the middle....
Nevertheless - fantastic picture, Andrzej!

Canadian thread from Italy:
Near Montecchio: The Germans had taken tank turrets, with 88 mm guns, and mounted them on concrete casements to cover the approaches to the Gothic Line. This one had knocked out many 5th Canadian Armoured Division Shermans before being destroyed.

And a small instruction (explanations) for these drawings - quick build a Panther turret on wooden emplacement.

New thread from Eastern Front, area of villages Владычино Аадамово (Belarus currently).
A concrete shell was build too.
And it seems a place of that bunker (demolished) is still visible from air. See here: 55°36'4.21"N 28°19'27.93"E best view by Google Earth picture dated on 11/11/2014
