Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
WOW!!
thanks Eddy!
it's quite al large bunker as the entire OB fits on it's roof.
... any idea if it fits a regelbaumodel or other known bunkertype?
Love to see some more photo's.
On my next visit i will see if it is at all possible to crawl into the bunker... the entrace is sanded, but in my opinion the rooms would be less sanded and enable me to measure it.
thanks Eddy!

Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
now that we see the bunker, we can indeed conclude that is a German construction.

Ok thanks!
Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
entrance of the bunker underneath was protected by kind of roof
Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
entrance second room, already filled with sand in 1993
Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
Thanks Eddy great picture's out the old box

This is from a groundplan at the B. Malo , Regards Jos
Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
thanks Eddy for the aditional photo's!!
also thanks Jos for the cutout of the map (if possible could you share this map with me or us all here on the forum?)
The map by Jos shows that the bunker has about the same layout as the SK marine personel bunker I asked about a few days ago: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=224403.
Now i'm even more eager to try and access the bunker to measure it! If the measurements fit with the SK marine personel bunker, we would already have 2 such bunkers which makes it less SK and raises the changes that this was a pre-designed bunker type possibly used elsewhere also

Hello Jean
This is not from a map but a signboard at the actual site Malo Terminus from the bunkers and the French fort .
The other bunker is bigger I think and has a extra wall inside .
Regards Jos

Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
Ok bedankt voor de info Jos... I tend not to give much notice to these signs, because most of the time they tell nothing new... but in this case it seems to worth while to give them a closer look...
the other bunker with similar layout (the largest of the two SK marine personel bunkers laying on the beach) has only an extra brick wall in the largest, so this would not make a difference when it comes to comparing bunkertypes I guess... it could even be possible that the bunker hidden under the OB also shows traces of such a brick wall once being present... but indeed, the main room of the bunker seems smaller then for the one laying on the beach; but these differences can be seen sometimes in regelbaubunkers too... so for me it is still possible both bunkers are off a certain type.

Re: Bttr Malo Terminus (Zuydcote)
Look at this!! It couldn't match more perfectly then this.
I took my model of the SK marine personel bunker removed the staircase and the emergency exit (as it needs to be on the other side in this case) and reshaped the roof and walls with angled slopes as seen on the photo by Eddy (this photo clearly shows how the OB is installed on the roof of the bunker so it came very handy for me to fit the two models together). Furthermore I changed nothing to the scales of the two different models; so I joint them together using the original measurements at the same scale! ....
... and look how perfectly they fit! lining out the OB on one side of the roof and it fits to the centimetre on the other side of the roof ... also no conflicts with the walls; none of them cross over in the interiour of eachother and the all brick walls connect nicely to the bunker exteriour without having to pull or stretch them.
... so it could very well be that the bunker underneath the OB is the same as the one laying on the beach exept for the exit and emergency exit which are placed in the opposit side. (I hope to return there soon and hopefully find confirmation on that)
now i can connect the staircase to the bunker, add the extra chimney and reposition the emergency exit
