Thanks Jos!
On my photo it looked like a half cilindric piece of concrete attached next to the climbingirons
but your photo - seen from another angle - shows it was just a trompe-l'oeil / mindtrick due to the vertical white line on the bunker

These three photo's are possibly taken on one location, as the buildings resemble each other (except for the white building with atennalike structure of which I posted this photo earlier in a radar related topic).
The dunes can be seen in the background on the right on the second photo... so it must be close to the sea

The Antenna-like pole we can see on the first photo posted by me of these baracks and as seen on the photo by Jos... is this a post-war construction or is it original... and if so, what is it??

It seems this "lighthouse" is still there Jean !!
Also notice how high the dunes now are! are the bunkers of Le clipon destroyed or just burried under the sand?!
See photo on GE

Or did they relocated and lowered this lighthouse?

Hi there, it is my first post as I was triggered by the unidentified ringstand photo in post 24. It looks a lot like the ringstand where I used to play when I was a small kid. The buildings in the back are located on the Leopold II-Laan around house-numbers 192-196 in Oostduinkerke. The telephonepole on the right was actually in the Meiklokjesweg. Google Streetview isn't that helpfull anymore as the left building doesn't exist anymore. However you can still see it on google earth. The ringstand was in the area defined by the Leopold II-Laan, the Kluislaan and Vincentlaan. I think it was destroyed/burried in the nineties, when the houses were built. I am about 90% sure, but someone else confirming it would be great.myt1prod wrote: ↑07 Aug 2016, 11:40I can't really see on the map by Dirk... but were there any ringstande at Stp Marseille??
This photo from the same collection shows a ringstand with surroundings very much alike the Stp. Marseille photo's.
(a single standing ringstand with no other references won't be easy to recognize I think...)
