I was just thinking about this because you mentioned the Westwall niches. The rooms of a 102V are more square than a 622.

Hello

I was wondering - is the Stp. name Ramin or Ramien?

Regards

clearly no ventilationsystem; there are no airintakes on the frontwall

Kurt, apparently the Germans didn't know themselves. 2/3 down the below link are two maps showing this stronghold, one states 'Ramien', the other states 'Ramin'...

Officially, it should be written Ramien.
Kurt Ramien (1889-1939) was one of the Uboote aces of WW1 with 57 ships sunk.

these are the measurements for the Vf Mannschaftsunterkunft (possibly combined with another function as communication, noticing the many pipes leading to the smallest room).
As It is entirely covered, the exteriour dimensions can't be measured, exept for those at the entrance, indicating that possibly all exteriour walls measure 120cm thick.

Thanks Jos... i'm curious about the type.

Here are the measurements for the Vf Garage... the Mannschafsraum is protected with 160cm thick walls, the garage only has 80cm walls and a 120cm thick frontwall (entrance side)

strange thing about this Garage-bunker...
The interiour is partially sanded so not possible to take exact Heightmeasurements without some shoveling... but the garage seems to be quite high or it even lacks a floor; I digged a bit with a small stick, but couldn't esablish the floorlevel of the garage.

Above the door leading too the mannschaftsraum I measured 83cm too the ceiling, in case of a standard hight of the doorwaypassage (170 à 180) this would mean that the garage measures 253cm à 263cm high... but at the pipe marked with the lettre 'B' I measured 232cm too the ceiling and at least 40cm too the sand covering the floor meaning that the garage measures at least (232 + 16 + 40) 288 cm and possibly up too 300cm... so we can conclude that possibly some steps lead from the actual floorlevel of the garage too the doorway connecting the mannschaftsraum (or the floor of the garage is lacking)

The mannschaftsraum and entrancelock are not very high, only some 15cm higher then the doorlevels
