Missing 5cm Machinengranatwerfer M19 crates 'hunt'

Hi all,

I am trying to make replicas of all 6 Rheinmetall-Borsig produced crates for holding spares and servicing parts for the 5cm M19 Maschinengranatwerfer as listed in the M19 Manual:
Kasten Nr.1 Bodenstück (Breech mechanism). [Surviving example is also Number 1.] A spare breech mechanism with a few associated fittings
Kasten Nr.2 Waffe und Rahmen (Weapon and [loading]Frames). Spare bolts and springs etc. for the weapon and loading frames and also a spare Barrel & Barrel sleeve. [Period photo shows the inner tray only]
Kasten Nr.3 Schlüssel (Spanners).
Kasten Nr.4 Werkzeuge (Tools). [Surviving example is Number 5!]
Kasten Nr.5 Elektrische Einrichtung (Electrical Fittings). Spare bulbs and other electrical related items.
Kasten Nr.6 Betriebstoffe (operating supplies). Surviving example is Number 3!

3 examples (Kasten Nr. 1, 4 & 6) have been 'discovered' through various contacts! 8-) But it is the crates for holding "Waffe und Rahmen", "Schlüssel" & "Elektrische Einrichtung" I have not found any evidence of in photographs or a survivor

Can anyone give any info regarding the 'missing 3 crates???
Anything is welcome, be it a photo or info via PM!

Regards,
Malcolm :milwink:

Bumping this in case anything new has turned up!

Still on the hunt for Kasten number 4 and 6 for holding Schlüssel (Spanners) and Elektrische Einrichtung (Electrical Fittings).

The known ones are:
Kasten Nr.1 Bodenstück (Breech mechanism,) 1 known crate survives complete with breech mechanism and I have made a copy.
Kasten Nr.2 Waffe und Rahmen (Weapon and [loading]Frames), 1 known empty crate survives and I am currently making a copy.
Kasten Nr.3 Betriebstoffe (Opperating supplies), 2 known empty crates survive and I have made a copy.
Kasten Nr.5 Werkzeuge (Tools), 1 known empty crate survives which I have. The insert trays for another also survive.

Any info on the missing two crates would be gratefully received! :D

Regards,
Malcolm :milwink:

Awesome work. Have you tried contacting the museum in Koblenz. They might have something in depot?
