Help whit bunkers of Omaha Beach ( Dog Green ).
Help whit bunkers of Omaha Beach ( Dog Green ).
Hello everyone, I'm a fan of military history and are also fan of LEGO building.
In the past I built dioramas themed WWII which I then presented in some events and exhibitions.
My next project is to build a diorama of 2 meters by 3 meters, subject Omaha Beach and in particular the DOG GREEN sector.
At this point I ask your help..
This is the most precise map where I could find online.
I checked all the positions helping with vintage photos.
But I have a problem with the tobruk bunker near Hotel Casino. ( Square with the arrow above the word ) I failed to confirm the presence, I have not found photos, and how high the land eventually was...
Can someone help me ?

It has always puzzled me were the German divisional artillery was positioned, divisions like the 352nd would I imagine be equipped with a regiment of 105mm and 150mm howitzers, but I have never come across any positions drawn on any maps for these weapons, did they relinquish their regimental artillery when placed on garrison duty along the coast?

Re: Help whit bunkers of Omaha Beach ( Dog Green ).
Thanks for the answers.
So there are no Tobruk with MG near Hotel Casino.
A question.
L 'Hotel Casino was already built before the landing?
After landing I guess it was completely destroyed.

The field artillery of ID 352 were deployed in field positions some way back from the coast. Their positions are known and identified./ Check out this thread http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 2#p1897062yantaylor wrote:It has always puzzled me were the German divisional artillery was positioned, divisions like the 352nd would I imagine be equipped with a regiment of 105mm and 150mm howitzers, but I have never come across any positions drawn on any maps for these weapons, did they relinquish their regimental artillery when placed on garrison duty along the coast?
The division was only formed in the winter 1943-44 and the artillery had only received horse harness and sights a few months before D Day. The lack of emplacements saved them from notice by pre D Day recce and any attention on D Day from aircraft or naval gunfire.
