Please ID this gun. It's different than a standard u-boot gun and much more similar to a flak 88.

Sorry can't be much help as I thought the only deck guns used by U-Boats were 88mm on Type VII's and some 105's on Type IA's

Hello!
I believe it could be the SKC/35, that came on different mounts. Compare with the one at: http://www.warships1.com/Weapons/WNGER_ ... _skc35.htm

This is your pic Bjorn

I've been looking at the first one for a couple of days, apart from the mounting, the breechblock and recoil chambers look entirely different to me.

I was also not sure whether it is on a UBoat, I thought it could be an Italian Sub, the conning tower looks to be without the spray deflectors seen about halfway up the tower, although it could be a WWI Uboat

Here's another pic of the 8.8 SKC/35, the recoil chambers look different to me

The 88 FlaK also only has one recoil chamber

Got me stumped

I think that the gun is the 8,8 cm Schiffskanone C/35 in Unterseebootslafette C35. Is the only one 8,8 gun with two recoil chambers over the gun, also no one of the 10,5 cm has these two.

I believe that only 88's and 105's were used as deck guns(excluding aa)
Other than that your guess is as good as mine
