I am allways looking for new bunker types and sometimes they are right under your noise for a long time .
In a book Hitler's Atalantic Wall (1976) from one of the pioniers of Bunker Archeology Colin Partridge .

Drawings = Colin Partridge and Natter

Hi Jos,

This was spotted locally by Grappener as well when Natter originally posted the KI 514! 8-)
We don't know where Colin got the original info from though :?

It looks to me they took the Wa.Prüf.Fest nr. and made it the Kanalinseln number.

Jos posted something a bit back that three bunkers where renamed, it looks they correspond perfectly with the Kanalinseln numbers.

So the question is then, why did they have to rename? Because there was a new drawingnumber 514 maybe?

The only plothole here is that I don't know about which bunkers Jos was talking with this umzeichnung and it's a bit off wishfull thinking.

And that makes the Wa. Prüf. Nr's like this:

I Nr. 44 = Gruppenunterstand = I/b Nr. 514 = Kanalinseln 514
I Nr. 51 = Doppelgruppenunterstand = I/b Nr. 515 = Kanalinseln 515
I Nr. 64 = Batl. Abteilungs oder Regiment Gefechtstand = I/b Nr. 531 = Kanalinseln 531

The Kanalinsel 514 is the Unterstand/WaKoFest and the Kanalinsel 531 is the 609SK as designated by Rudi Rolf.

The Kanalinsel 515 is a bit of a mystery though as no twin group shelters were built except Type 622 but it may have been the example shown below?

I can't find my wakofest folder, but there are drawings of the Fest I nr's 44, 51 and 64 in there. If the Nr. 51 is the same as your Doppelgruppenunterstand then yes?

The bunkers Wa Prüf Fest I B Nr 44 may look like the Wa. Prüf Fest Nr 514 may look the same but there are small
differences niche in the entrance part and a emercency exit . Just the same with the Wa.Prüf Fest Nr 51 and Nr 515.

Here a other very bad drawing of a I b number in the 500 from the Gruppenunterstand with antenna niches .

Regards Jos

P.S. Love to read the text but it very blurry .
