On Ebay there are some photo's of a 10.5 cm Flak from the gem. Flakabteilung 152 ,
it could be Brest or Cherbourg , who has any idea and were those 10.5 cm Flak also
used in Cherbourg ?

Battalion did have 10,5 cm Flak in 5.-8.Bttr. around Cherbourg. Each battery had four.

Great photos BTW. Would love to use them to illustrate this unit in my book, but I'm currently not a position to acquire them.

BTW, the seller states this is Flak-Abt.153. If that's the correct battalion, possible locations are St.Nazaire, Jersey, Cherbourg, Rennes and again Cherbourg. I cannot link that battalion to 10,5 cm Flak around Cherbourg in 1944 though.
If it is 152, possible locations are Brest, Jersey and Cherbourg. This is supported by the lighthouse, Phare de Saint Matthieu.

Thanks Niels

There are several photo's in that row from the Chateau de Brest , so it looks Gem. Fla. Abt 152 ??

Here some data on the 10.5 cm Flak in the Cherbourg area .

I agree it is Brest. Which means 152 is more likely. The seller may be wrong, or the orginal owner of the photos was transferred at some point....

What's the date for that document? All four batteries appear to have been south of Cherbourg at the time of the invasion.

This photo with what looks the troop sign with 1a( bear ) looks to be a Feldpostnummer L 283 and that fits with the L 28348
of the Luftwaffe Flak Abteilung 153 , the Feldpostnummer of the L.A. 152 is L 23569 . So the Ebay seller is right .

You could be right Jos, but there is another digit to the right of the 3 and I have trouble identifying it as a 4... Might just be the angle though as I cannot seem to find a suitable other candiate in the 2833X, 2835X, 2838X or 2839X range. Either way, the chances of these photos showing multiple units has increased. We can be sure about Brest (area) as a location, but can we identify any other locations?

As for the 1.6.44 document, what is it about? Batteries actually in place or plans only?
I have several diffcerent sources that suggest the 10,5-cm batteries were still south of Cherbourg on D-Day. I'm also puzzled by the use of "Luftwaff.-Flak-Bttr." for just one group of batteries.

Thanks Jos. It's puzzling because that would mean there were no Flak batteries south of Cherbourg. Which is in direct conflict with basically all other sources I have.
