Stp. Anna (Calais) gunbunker

#1

Post by jopaerya » 13 Mar 2018, 17:02

Hello All

Trying to reconstruct the gun-bunker at B. Bastion II for a drawing, looking for post-war photo's of this bunker.
Looks the gun-bunker was blown-up by the German troops in 1944 ?? So who has any photo's of remains of this bunker ??

Regards Jos

Thanks Dirk

It must be this one with the entrance defence on the first floor, the other two gun-bunker at La Creche don't fit.

Compared the French drawings of the 19.4 cm in open emplacements , the emplacements
are the same but the ammunitions rooms all different. Some are on two levels but also only
one level and also the shape is not the same. That is the reason the German bunkers are not
the same.

Correct Dirk

Looks the French used two types of emplacements for the 19.4 cm , the one storey and two storey models .
So it looks logical that the German gunbunkers were also two main models also one and two storey bunkers.

Hello everyone,

The building of the gunbunker seems to have begun in November 1943 or just before. On this aerial photo taken on 3 November, some dirt are moved at the future place of the bunker.
