Last weekend I finally got promission to enter a 99% preserved R-634 with 35p08 Schartentürm. The interior, and MG mountings were not touched by more than 10-15 persons since 1945!
All instructions on the walls were 100%!

A really good example of this rare item!

Maybe I`ll add some photos too :)

This bunker is quite unique, as it has never been restored, and it is not used as museum. It`s just very well hidden!

E

Tahnks for the photo's were they from the area local to you? and do you know what fortress unit may have used the bunker.

PS: British concrete bunkers are usually bricked up or used by tramps

The bunker was a part of the defence around Sola airport near Stavanger. I live only 10 Km from there. The bunker was probably used by Luftwaffe, and the nearest I have got regarding to units is Kdo.Flgh.ber.22/III But I am absolutely not sure it was theirs.....

I Promise you it was!
I have waited since January to get in there (It`s in the middle of a military area) And the Norwegian army doesn`t work too fast

No, I've just seen one of Erik R's photographs of it. It is on my "hunting-list" for this summer, though.

Hi Erik !

Great pics my friend. I've posted a couple of links to German and Austrian sites on the Third Reich forum listing under flak towers if you would be interested.

also the link in Austria:

http://www.geheimprojekte.at/

go to forums and look for I believe the second heading down covering Bunkers, Luftschutz, etc. go through those slowly and there are some great links listed in the posts.

Thanks Erich!

There are also some Flak towers in Norway, but they are much smaller than the ones in the rest of Europe...

As a matter of fact there are no such sites.......
There are a few covering limited areas (like Snorre`s homepage), but not any who covers the whole country.....
It would be a huge job to gather photos from all over the country, from north to south there are some 2500 Km.
I have about 800-1000 photos only from the area where I live, and that is just a litte piece!

I could post some links if you want to see some "fortresses" in Norway
