This is one of those few moments where I wish that I lived in Europe. There aren't any war artifacts near me. There are a few museums, but to my knowledge, there hasn't ever been a battle (short of coalminers vs. private security organizations) in my area... EVER.

I can't just walk down the road a bit and go take a look at the cool German bunker, or find an MG42 while digging a new foundation. I don't find Tiger tanks in my grandfather's old barn, and I can't find that old Ju88 in my lake. I'm sad and jealous. Fortunately there are a few musems near me, just no battlefields. Illinois isn't exactly "war-torn".
