even if these openings are there for the archaic system of handloading the gun
Why are some made smaller by the germans
here an interior shot in the Turm Bruno where there is one made smaller by the germans
00 bruno.JPG
question why not all made smaller ?

Normally they loaded shell and grenade and on another lorry the propellant bag.
But as far as I know the hatch openings are the same size.

Here you have a full cycle real footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2SfFup5YRA
from about 5:10, you also see the use of the small back door for the long push rod.
Thanks,

Wim

error in the plans of the Lindemann bttr
i ll think the english made an error in their plans of the Lindemann Bttr
00 plan engels.JPG
they closed that entrance in the red circle
this passage , there is no door in it and it is not square so no door was planned by the germans
(looks like the passages in ammo bunkers)
here before the concrete was poured

00 3 b.jpg

in some after the war pictures we see this passage heavily damaged but recognisable

What could be the function and why the germans put in the other entrances here at this floor level 434P01 doors and nothing in this passage
any ideas ?
passage for equipment ? don t think so because the rounded opening isn t as usual when the germans brick up an entrance or passage

another item
here we see a 4 is painted
we know there are three doors and this strange passage
so it looks that the passage is nr 2
doorgang 4.JPG
doorgang 4 1.JPG
on no other doors i ve found any nr so this is speculation
on another turm it seems that the 4 is not painted at all
