Regelbau Fl 258

Post by TH » 29 Jun 2019 22:23

I can't find any mention of constructed Fl 258s on the net or in the literature available to me, but I suspected for some time that the emplacement in the picture below is a Regelbau Fl 258 "Stand für Leitrichtgerät". Now that I have measured it I'm sure of it. The dimensions match the type drawing.

258-2.jpg

So far I've identified six surviving Fl 258 in Denmark, constructed as part of Leuchtgruppen (searchlight positions).
Two around V.B. Esbjerg and four around V.B. Frederikshavn.

None of them are designated Fl 258 in the original construction list, however. No type is given for the ones at Esbjerg.
All constructions of the Leuchtgruppen around Frederikshavn, including these emplacements, are designated Flak 1000.

Has anyone seen this type elsewhere?

Hello

Here are the 4 pcs. in Fr.Havn - Designated Flak 1000 - the 14 m2 types for Leitrichtgerät.

There must be other mysteries our there as the designated type Flak 1000 also covers over several other types that we dont know.

Hell
All leuchtgruppen in and around Bergen had a similar set up with one emplacement for leitrichgërat. I not sure but as i recall one or two of these have what might be a Fl 258. The rest have some that look similar but have som difference in the entrance, and the room on the side is outside the wall not Integrated as on the drawing, or below as you can see in the Picture. The one on the map was also elevated as the one in the Picture.

Interesting emplacement with the ramp stril - for a mobile Leitrichtgerät?

There is a field-type shelter right next to the emplacement from my first post.
I wonder if that might be a Bh 204, the recommended shelter for the Fl 258. I don't know what a Bh 204 looks like, however.

Btw, has anybody visited the Leuchtgruppen around Frederikshavn?
I've seen pictures on the internet, but those are not available anymore.
The Fl 258s there seem to have a covered entrance.

Yes, Fanø to be exact (Leuchtgruppe "Hans"). I don't know if there are remaining Leuchtgruppen on the mainland.
The ones I could locate seem to have been destroyed long ago.

Hello

Both LG Hans and LG Emil at Fanø are visible, and can be visited.

There are four positions at Frederikshavn too as shown above, but I do not know if they are stil there?

No they hade to build it like that to get the positions in line on a small narrow Ridge.
Adde two photos from some leuchtgruppen, a similar shelter like the one you posted, and another position for a leitrichgerat. Same difference as earlier.
