Hello Eugenius,

I guess, that the most valuable thing , that you can do would be to make a precise drawing with measurements, and publish it here - that would be good to compare it with other objects.

"if you wish i can send a drawing so you can put there the measurements if it could help" - yes, that would be really helpful as I normally do not make drawings, so I'm not so experienced in that.

please
an emty tobruk
each measurement you take you write it down on the corresponding wall see the red digits
so you continue
you end when on all walls there is a digit
be aware that sometimes not all these measurements can be taken because of dirt , water , mud aso

Hey Dirk,

A 3D model? Well that is possible but I have made already some.

If he can measure he should.
Novice or not. It all depends, like you wrote, on accessibility.
Thanks,

Wim

OK, here are the drawings with dimensions:

Tobruk 4.jpg
I hope the above is understandable. The second drawing obviously refers to the niches/openings I began this thread from. Note that both drawings are NOT in scale. I tried to clean up the bunker from outside, but the temperature here is already below zero, so this attempt failed. Internal height figures are no more than relative as the bottom of the bunker is covered with frozen mud and trash, so it's difficult to suggest what was the original height.

Here are some pictures of the niches:

Obviously they were filled with sand, which remnants are still visible. No less obvious is that the bunker was fully banked. However, It's difficult to understand how the niche above the entrance was filled such a way the sand to contain inside the niche without banking.

So what would be your suggestion concerning the purpose of those niches?

first thought a Bf 58c but very rude built
the backwall is 100 cm
the oposite side with the entrance is 35 and 75 for the door opening (total 110 cm ) so it is 10 cm smaller in the back
these things happen
a very well executed and good job
thanks in name from the belfra team

"hope to make a drawing tomorrow for you" - yes, if you can make a scale drawing, I would be really thankful for a copy.

"but very rude built" - well, the Wehrmacht in Russia was in much severe conditions than in Holland or Denmark.)))

Some more pictures of the object slightly covered with first snow:

Any ideas concerning the niches?..
