Lillebonne - Casemate type 680?
Lillebonne - Casemate type 680?
In Claude Mallon's book "Occupation, Epuration, Reconstruction" (in French), there is a long list of construction works done by the Société française de travaux routiers for the Organization Todt under the control of the German companies Harald-Rittmann and Carl-Brandt:
Table 14 - Échantillon de travaux effectués par la Société française de travaux routiers pour l’Organisation Todt sous pilotage des entreprises allemandes Harald-Rittmann et Carl-Brandt.
In it, there is the mention of "Abri type 680 - Lillebonne". Was this bunker really built and if so, do we know where?
The book can be read electronically here:
https://books.openedition.org/purh/5430
Table 14 is in Chapitre V. Collaboration économique, contraintes et adaptations.
The price of different bunkers is indicated.

P.S. Our forum member, Sébastien Haule, is mentioned in the book.

Dear Friends,
Many thanks for these words, it's a great honour for me. But research is impossible without sharing information thanks to this forum and without exchange and field works with friends.
About Claude Malon - he is historian and also a friend and colleague - his research is about economic colaboration in Le Havre during WWII. And of course, he worked on construction firms involved by the building of Atlantikwall in Le Havre area. One of the archives he used are about economic collaborators : in few folders, he found duplicate of bills (in French) concerning building activities made for German firms (ie Polensky & Zollner) or Organisation Todt, with sometime Regelbau nummer on the document.
For Lillebonne 680, it's still a mystery : but it could be a bunker belonging to Bo sector (Bolbec).
Cheers,
Sébastien

Dear Jos,
Just few pages give a type, only one the fonction (196 Wasserbunker). Here is the page about the 680 in Lillebonne.
I think we can trust this document because all the types indicated on these archives match with field observation or information from other sources. I tried to locate this bunker with Remonter Le Temps website, without success for the moment. But it sound logical to have some fortification in this area because we are not fare from the river ferry of Quillebeuf sur Seine.
Cheers,
Sébastien

Re: Lillebonne - Casemate type 680?
Dear Etienne,
The extract of aerial photos are located westward of Bolbec, near Saint-Eustache-la-Forêt. Lillebonne is located southward of Bolbec. When I wrote about Bolbec, it was about Bolbec sector and strongpoints coded Bo (See the post viewtopic.php?f=70&t=221588). We know that Écluse de Tancarville was coded W.N. Bo 04. So a 680 build in Lillebonne , along the road going from Bac de Quillebeuf-sur-Seine, belonging to an other WN Bo xx is a possibility. Quillebeuf-sur-Seine is the seconde river-ferry to cross the river on the mouth of the Seine, it is a strategical point for German. And Bolbec - Gruchet was a Division HQ.
For all the location on theses archives documents, each time it's geographicaly correct.
Best regards from Rouen
