Unknown bunker at Cape Kamenjak/Croatia
While wandering in the nature protection area of Cape Kamenjak I found this bunker in the shrubbery.
It's a concrete circle of approx 10 - 12 m diameter partially overgrown with bushes and trees.
Some steps are going down, left of the steps threre's a steep slot, 5 meters or deeper, right there's a stairway in to the underground.
Unfortunately I had no torch and the stairway was full of debris, so I did not dare to go in deeper.
Is this some artillery position or no military installation at all?
regards
Helmut

Re: Unknown bunker at Cape Kamenjak/Croatia
It looks more like Austro-Hungarian construction than Yugoslavian. Is it Kamenjak in Pola? Pola was a large Austro-Hungarian fortress.

Cape Kamenjak is the most southern point of the Istria peninsula. Pola is not far away, ca. 20 kilometres.

Re: Unknown bunker at Cape Kamenjak/Croatia
Sorry, I'm afraid I can't and also my camera had no GPS.
Really a long list of A-H fortresses. Were they still active in WWII and used by the italians or were they looted of steel and demolished e.g. like the alpine fortresses in the high plains of Folgaria and Lavarone?
best regards
Helmut

What is this document? Can you give me other pages as well? I m researching a Küstenartillerie battery that is called MONTE MADONNA in SISSANO. It's 10 km away from these fortifications at Premantore
