German shelters in Pskov region, Russia - a Regelbau type?
Re: German shelters in Pskov region, Russia - a Regelbau type?
I think, that in terms of field fortifications especially interetsting are the bunkiers for FK,PAK and howitzers. They are very rare, thre is some of them in Atlanticv Wall (some of series 600 feldmassig, single examples in Ringstellung Lotzen in Poland), I guess also 2 survived in Leningrad region, between villages Novoselye and Lesopitomnik.

Here is a standard design from 1916 -not the same, but similar thinking

OK, got it!

The one you meant is smaller and has only one observation embrasur. Surely the Germans built similar observation posts during WWI as well - I saw quite a number of them mainly in Belarus.

Do you have LIDAR imaging for Russia?

Wanna buy a piece of original German fortification of WWII?..
This story began last autumn, when one of Russian colleagues copied a post at Avito (Russian analogue of Ebay), in which someone offered this object for sale - at RUR 50 000 (ca. EUR 550). I can't imagine what was behind this offer, but I found this object at 56.36256, 30.67224. Here are some pictures:
This is quite standard German observation post. The most interesting thing is that the object is reverse-oriented - entrance to north-east, embrasures to south-west. It looks that the Germans had to defence with reverse front at the time when this object was constructed.
There were obvious traces of attempts to crush this object with excavator, but it resisted so far. So please hurry up to buy this object as far as it exists.

Hi guys, hope you are all vaccinated and stay healthy! Let's move to Novgorod region close to Pskov region, and see what the Whermacht left for us to see there.
There are many German fortification objects right in the city of Novgorod. Here is most likely the shelter at 58.54371, 31.31659:
Half-buried in the ground and overgrown with grass. Entrance is fully buried, no any sight of embrasures. A concrete slab laying on top probably covers Ringstand-style opening.

This was probably the entrance:

A question: what those square niches were for? I saw many Ringstands, but never met such niches:

A battle casemate viewed from the entrance:
MG emplacement. A question: what kind of MG might be used here? The emplacement looks to be too high for MG-34 or MG-42.
A shelter viewed through the window. The entrance to battle casemate is on the right:
