Another type is even more interesting. It looks like a basement of a house; probably it really had any other structure on top:
It looks like 2 separate chambers were unified in one structure with a kind of common walls. The empty space was probably filled with earth resulting with double walls with earth in between:

So any idea of the purpose of this object? I decided to ask you especially because we have a similar one not far from St. Petersburg - again 2 small chambers with separate entrances built close to each other, on the ravine slope:
