Re: Batterie Flex blankenberge
Hello Dirk,
Sorry but I found only one sentence in dutch language over here :
https://frontsector.be/index.php/verded ... -in-belgie
Hope it helps.
Kindly regards
Prosper

Hello everybody
Here what I understood from the different KTB's from 1940.
In May 1940 Marine Regiment 22 was composed of MAA 202, MAA 204 and MAA 206.
End May 1940, MAA 202 was transferred to Mar.Regt. 21 except the Kompanie Ahlhorn that stayed subordinated to the MAA 204.
The Marine Befehlshaber Belgien-Niederlande has to changed her name in Marine Befehlshaber WestFrankreich and that the Abschnitt Holland had to be subordinated to the Admiral der Noordsee station.
MAA 206 were ordered to occupy the area Zeebrugge-Blankenberge and MAA 204 to occupy the area Ostend-Nieuwpoort
MAA 204 arrived in Ostend on 29th of May 1940.
Batterie "Momber" first occupied the emplacement of the ex-WW1 batterie "Antwerpen" (in Raversijde) but moved a few days later a position west of the Palace Hotel. The batterie was called later 3./204 'Saltzwedel, Momber was the name of the commander.
Batterie "Bahl" first occupied the space between the Palace Hotel and the West border of the town of Ostend, but moved a few days later to a new position on East entrance of the port of Ostend. The batterie was called later 2./204 "Hundius"
Batterie Ahlhorn first occupied the space between Palce Hotel and the entrance of the Port and then was moved as Reserve unit.
The batterie 4./204 "Ramien" was created in June 1940 with personel from the MAA.206, and positioned at the entrance of the Port of Nieuport (Nieuwpoort)
Batterie Flex was thus part of the MAA 206 (see document hereunder from NARA T1022 Roll 3650) but I have no clue when it has been removed but it looks it was not the same batterie that was installed later in Nieupoort as Batterie Ramien" received her guns on the 10th of June so before the reporting of the installation of batterie Flex on 17th of June.

Hello everyone,
The commander of Batterie Momber must be Oblt. MA Klaus Momber. He was later commander of Batterie Prinz Heinrich (MAA 244, Sangatte) then the famous Batterie Todt. Herwig Geber, another commander of Prinz Heinrich, almost took the same route as Momber (MAA 204 then MAA 244).
