Re: bunker found at middelkerke (BE)
To answer to Simon V. about the bunker numbers I guessed right:
The bunker code of the the 117a from Stp Puma is Ost-W 011-217 and we know also that one of the 134 Küche of Stp Leeb has the code Ost -W 09-212. Most of the time, the Sanitary bunkers (Sanität-, Küche- and Wasser-bunkers) received the highest number inside a same strongpoint, there were the last ones to receive a number, so usually the highest ones amoung the Stp). As there were also a Wasserbunker and most probably also a 134 S inside the Stp von Leeb (so number 213 and 214), I was thus pretty sure the two 502 of Stp Roon would have 215 and 216 as bunker code.
This is just an observation from my experience on the field and in the Archives, no German document I know to prove this theory.

Great info as always Pierrot!
Nice to see an St sign on each side of the entrance to the 502. Is that common in Belgium?

Hello
What is the correct name and number to this WN. or StP?
Is it certain that it is a 502? There has been mentioned else where (Facebook) that it is a 656?
Best Regards
Kurt

Re: bunker found at middelkerke (BE)
Good evening
Second 502 has been found and opened today. Inside condition is worse than the first one.
Both bunkers still needed to be measured and inventorized by the archeologists. The entrances of both bunkers have been sealed again this afternoon to avoid any intrusion before the study will be completed and the bunkers secured. There is a chance the bunkers will be opened for visitors during a few days before their "most probable" demolition.
Other pictures will follow

To answer to Kurt,
The name of the strongpoint is Stp Roon.
For sure these are both 502, I visited them today personally.
I will post more infos over this position tomorrow.

Hello Etienne
I think both 502's are identical with 3 nisches on the right side of the entrances
Please have a look yourself at https://www.beeldbankkusterfgoed.be/. Select "fotoreportage opgravingbunker WOII in Middelkerke. For the first 502, you must click on the blue rectangle with text" alle nieuwsberichten" and you will see the other folder with the pictures of the first 502 (Ost-W 010 -216) opened on Wednesday. The site is in Dutch but you will find many pictures of both bunkers. Pictures are from Simon V. who was also part of the investigation team of yesterday.

Hi Jos,
The 502 (Ost-W 010-215) had part of its left flanking wall unearthed. Further inspection will reveal of the stairs will be there, but I'm almost 100% certain they will.
If anybody wants specific detail photographs of the 502s just let me know.
Regards
Simon

Yes, also the 216 has 3 niches on the right side of the entrances. The lower niche was partly unearthed when we first entered the bunker.pierrot wrote: ↑08 Jan 2021 13:08Hello Etienne
