hello, I am a native and resident of the area I know the area very well. This post is really interesting, there are indeed underground fortifications in the park of the castle of Taillevilles. There are also underground bunkers at the level of the water tower at the level of the northern exit of the village.

Hello Distelfink,

Thanks for the information. I found a photo of what I think is the place you are referring to, inside the park of the castle of Tailleville, near the water tower :

It is not very clear but have a look at 0.39. You can see Canadian soldiers inside the park near the water tower. You can also see some shapes that could be some of the bunkers. I knew this photo but I had no clue it was taken in Tailleville.

Hello,
My great-grandfather was captured in France on April 13, 1945. He was most recently in the 8th company in the 736 Grenadier Regiment. Are there any documents or photos from this company?

Are you sure about the date? On this time (April 1945), 716 infanterie division was fighting with her last strength against the French in Germany.
