Dieppe fortifications 1942
Dieppe fortifications 1942
Hello All,
I have been searching over internet and this forum as well for information about the German defences of Dieppe in august 1942. I have found loads of good photo's which give me about 70% of the info I need. I'm looking for maps or sketches which focus on the defence of the Dieppe beachfront in august 1942. To be more specific WN Die05 (Plage de Dieppe), I could also use info in WN Die03/04/06/07 but Die05 is most important to me.
If any one is able to help me that would be most welcome!
With kind regards,
Remi

Re: Dieppe fortifications 1942
You could start with the relevant chapter from the 1955 Canadian Army official history: http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/UN/Cana ... rs-11.html
Incidentally, when you access the above you can see that "Department of National Defense" is written in the banner at the top of the page. This should read "Department of National Defence". The good people at HyperWar, being Americans, have spelled "Defence" with an 's', but while the US has a Department of Defense (DoD) we have our Department of National Defence (DND).

Re: Dieppe fortifications 1942
Hello
All I have is German maps showing the fortifications and the meassures taken after 1942, but the 1943 maps are interesting as far as what the Germans did after the allied landing in 1942.
If you have the full picture of the developement fra 1940 till 1942, then the 1943 maps might be of interest?
Regards
