60mm Mortars

#1

Hi everyone.

I have been searching for a 1/72 scale model of the French 60mm Mortier Modèle 1935, but alas with no results.
I do however, have a few models of the US 60mm M2 Mortar, but are they basically the same weapon?
I wonder if the US M2 would pass for the mle 35.

The 60 mm French M1935 mortar and the US M1 copy are virtually identical however the US M 2 has slight differences. The tube has a selective fire trigger which adds length to the tube and causes the tube to be placed higher on the bipod. In addition the traversing screw is exposed brass on the M 1 and French M1935 while it is in an enclosed silver tube in the M 2, both easily correctible on a model. The most noticable difference is in the Ammunition. The French 60 MM ammo has a longer slender fuze which would have to be fabricated on american shaped ammo.
