It's a French Artillery battery of some Gros Ouvrage in the Maginotline. :)

Hello
Added a picture from Tore Eggans webpage. Its a similar bunker, picture from France.
Also a picture from Gros Ouverage mentioned by Avb.
For those interesetd i can recomend looking at the pictures in this lot, as its quite a few from captured french fortifications. A example added.

The photo's from Abjorn are from the artillerieblock of Czech Werkgruppe Hurka ( Berghöhe ) .

after looking at the atlantic wall for some time i am wondering if there was any way it could have worked better, some of the ideas like the enfilade bunkers were lethally effective but they never seemed to be usefull against infantry.

Hello members,

maybe it is of interest for you that on the last picture in strils email from the 01.11.09 there is an interesting emplacement visible. It is a german concrete emplacement for a single 10 cm Kanone in Schirmlafette. Those ensembles were constructed in the imperial fortress of Strassburg around 1905 - 1910. This is the first picture that I have seen, where there is the gun still in position. Today all the guns are removed from this emplacements. I will post a drawing of this emplacement later on.
