Flak emplacements/equipment +++

#1

Post by Erik E » 12 Jan 2004, 22:22

These are not common ones!

This 10,5cm Skc/32 Was in use by the Norwegian army as coastal artillery until a few years ago. The gun itself is in a magnificent mint condition! Every little detail is still in place!!!

In the 1950`s, the Norwegian factory "Kongsberg Vaapenfabrik" bought a load of these guns from Denmark. This particular gun was brought from the "Flakbatterie Femhöje" near "Festung Hanstholm" in 1959. After a little modification, it was placed here!

It would be really interesting if one of our members have got photos from the original emplacements in Denmark :)

Welcome Kurt :)
Thanks for your corretion!

According to the book "Kystartilleri i Danmark 1940-45" , this battery got an additional 4th 10,5 cm gun in Nov. 1942 (In addition to 3 placed in April 1940)
Do you know if their location is still intact over there?

Here`s a few more photos!

Another interesting detail with this battery, is that the emplacement is a former german coastal artillery battery. Parts from the K17/04 were still there!

Someone should go and get those pieces of the original German Coastal gun and repair it. It looks fairly good.

Hello again

Quote:

Erik - you are quite right. The first three guns were 10,5 cm Flak L/45 - and then there were added a 10,5 cm S.K. C/32 in 8,8 cm M.P.L. C/30
The guns were in open emplacements with rail for nets.

Feuerleit was a 6 mtr rangefinder (S) Dreiwag- And there was for the Battery a Funkmessgerät, Würtzburg Dora. In addition to that there were another extra Feuerleit with 6 mtr rangefinder (S) with Flak Kommandogerät 41 together with a Funkmessgerät Freya with 2 antennasystems for side and altitude.

As the open emplacements were of concrete, and Feuerleit, crew and ammunitionbunkers also of concrete ( Heavy ) and the bunker for the radar were concrete ( leight ) with a leight couppola. There were maschingun and morterbunkers for selfdefence also in concrete, tobruks and Vf. ( leight )

I have heard that the "Søfartsmuseum" in Esbjerg have a series of pictures from wartime, I will check - and see if it is possible to obtain a copy of theese.

So I will assume that there is something to see at the site, also now in 2004. I have not been there myself, bun as there only is approx. 100 km. from where I live, i can go there and take som pictures in the near future.

I think this posting is very interesting, so - everybody - carry on. !!!

Best regards
Kurt

These guns along with the 12,7cm Skc/34 was the main armnament in the Norwegian coastal artillery for a long time! Today, only a few have been left in their post-war emplacements.... I know the location of some 7-8 Skc/32 and 3 Skc/34 guns today. I guess around 50 to 100 guns of this type has been scrapped during the 80 & 90`s....... :?
The gun I posted photos of barely made it after a long negotiation between the army and some local interests.

Interesting info you added Kurt!
Really strange with this Würzburg Dora...... I see this listed for allmost every flak battery in Denmark, but I have never seen this listed for any heavy batteries in Norway.......?

Here is a M-195 converted for use with 10.5cm Skc/32. 4 guns from this battery were scrapped in the early 90`s!

A little off-topic, but I`ll also throw along the rare firecontrolpost of these rare gunpositions!
A S-414, the only one in Norway! This bunker was built without the 3rd floor on top (Same convertion as MKB Noordwijk, Netherlands)
