[quote="Erik E"]
Do you know if their location is still intact over there?

Hey Erik and all others.

Yesterday I talked with persons from the Esbjerg area, and they say that we know where the battery has been situated, but that the whole lot, emplacements etc. are covered with earth.

I saw, also yesterday, additional 15 - 20 old photographs from the area, but I could not get a copy of theese, sorry !!!

I will try to get them from the museum, if possible ??

But, as a good thing, yesterday was our tour to "Fliegerhors Hadersleben" ) Skrydstrup Airfield - so I got approx. 50 - 55 good pictures from this "military establishment". I will try to post some pictures of that at a later time.

best regards
Kurt

Erik and Kurt,

Thanks for sharing these great pictures.

Just a quick question....Erik, in the first picture that you provide, (with the 10.5cm gun in the "turret" emplacement), - I was just wondering how effective an AA gun that emplacement would be given the limited elevation of the gun etc.

Just curious as to whether or not it was still used as a FLAK emplacement or as a shore battery?

Thanks,

Dan

Hello Dan!

This battery belonged to the norwegian coastal artillery.
I don`t think it was ever meant to fire at planes in this configuration, even though it might have been possible to a limited degree......

Hello all

As a supplement to the discription of the flak site in Femhøje, you know i mentioned the Würtzburg Dora - i thougt i would bring a picture os this.

It is not from Femhøje, but from a similar flakbattery nearby.

Best regards

And again, a picture from the same battery. Another 2,0 cm flak in open emplacements.

Pictures are from approx. 1944 - spring 1945.

Erik...where are these guns located? ....they look like they could be in someone's backyard!

They are also in excellent condition so I am assuming there are near a memorial or a museum?

Thanks again for sharing.

They are located in an "open air" museum outside Bergen in western Norway. If you look closely, you will see that some wital parts of the fireing mechanism has been removed, and what you can`t see, is that the breech block has been welded in closed position....
In short, the weapon has been deactivated. The first gun I posted, is still working!

For more photos of those two guns, have a look here:

Hello all.

Here is a couple of pictures from my recent trip to "Fliegerhorst Hadersleben" - FSN Skrydstrup in the south of Jutland.

It is a flak position for a 7,5 ( 7,6 ) cm. flak (Bel)
Note the mounting at the side of the bunker ( it is still there !!! )

Kurt
