Sorry about yesterday mistake. The batery on Hel was 406mm,type "Adolf". It was the same type as batery in Norway. German built 10 sets. In 1942 eight of them were deliver to Norway but one sunk with a ship. 3 were mounted on Engeloy Island (batery MKB 4/516 "Dietl"), 4 were mounted near Harstad (batery MKB 5/511 "Trondenes"), 2 were delivery to Hel. After trials( probably one shot )at 1941 they were transported to France and mounted in Sangatte by Blanc Nez (batery "Lindemann"). On photo are ruins of gun stand in Hel.

athanks for the question jopaerya. I know about ten guns. Maybe in France was only 2 sets from Hel. In Poland were three stands but probably only two guns, replaced to France.

Hello

According to my sources:
Guns: 406 mm Adolf type SK C/34 ->10 examples were built by F.Krupp for new designed battleship 'H' class later adopted for coastal artillery.
* 3 x M.K.B. Lindemann
* 3 x M.K.B. Engeloy
* 4 x M.K.B. Trondenes
seems correct.

Also it is said(rumours?) that:
-it has been 7 guns (mayby without Hel S-H battery)
-or 11 (one supposly for balistic tests)

Hi @ndrew

The rumour about the 11th gun of 40,6 cm SK C/34
is based on the book "Riesengeschütze und schwere
Brummer einst und jetzt" from Rudolf Lusar (1972)
He said that a fourth gun of M.S.B.Engeloy (Dietl) is
lost on a steamship on transport to Harstad ????
There is also a rumour about a barrel 40,6 cm found
in 1945 in Meppen with the serienumber 19 ????
You see only rumours no facts .

Hi!

The gun 21.0 cm Kanone (E) “Paris Geschützes” was not known under this name. There were two variants with the original designations 21 cm K.12 (E) and 21 cm K.12 N (E).

Regards, Michael
