Hello again.
No there is no ringstand on top on this one.
The metalplate is sloping downwards, no slit in the end of it, the only opening in that plate is the opening in the picture.
There is/was also 6 gun emplacements in the area, according to map.
Ill take a trip later today and take some interior pictures and measure up the place, ill post them later this evening.
regards
stril

Interior and measurement

#18

Post by stril » 10 Mar 2004, 22:10

Hello.
I add some photos and drawing with measurement, the drawing is from the book of R.Rolf, "Atlantic Wall Typology". I have added some lines where the doors are.As i could see it was only one missing.
The bunker itself was filled with loads of garbage, it also had been a place for the local teens.
As i can see it it is either a R615 or a R 627, i let the experts to decide.
Ill add the pictures room by room.
Regards
stril

To the right when you enter this room, just beside the opening there is a opening in the wall, it have armored door 0,6X0,8 cm.The room inside is 2 meter deep and 0,6 m wide. Its only enough height to crawl. It end blindly in some bricks.According to one that have been in there as teen some years ago it was a small tunnel, he ment that it had to be blocked.Something for escape/rescue ?
Ill add a picture of that door.

Note candle on the table, and yes, we did have a female companion with us :)

As mentioned and you see on the drawing you access the Beobachtungsraum from the planraum.
This was a mess, we had to remove som wooden structure and remove some rubble to crawl in.
It was mentioned a slit or not a slit in this room. Its no more opening than the one in the metalplate.Ill add a few pictures. In addition, this was the only room having two doors, one going in to the room, the other going out.
The wall between the Beobachtungsraum and the planraum was aprox 80 cm.
First picture looking upwards, impossible to get a good view.
