Hello!
Thought you guys wanted to see the world`s largest remaining land based naval turret?
In 1943 The germans completed the Marine küsten-batterie 5/511 in Trondenes, near Harstad in Norway. The batterie was equipped with
4 X 40,6 Cm SKC/34 turrets! The weight of a shell was almost 1200kg, and had a range of incredible 56 Km! One of these turrets are still left as a museum. I visited it during spring 95, as you can see, I could allmost crawl into the barrel....
