Need Pictures: Fak 30 and Flak 38

#1

Post by Douglas Jr. » 24 Jul 2004, 21:12

Hi folks,

I just bought a Wehrpass of a soldier who served in a Flak Regiment. In his book is written that he was trained with the Flak 30 and Flak 38 (both in 20mm caliber).

Does anyone has good pictures of this weapons?

Thanks in advance,

Douglas.

Flak Soldbuch

Post by mit31 » 05 Aug 2004, 21:04

Douglas Jr, your my new best friend! I am trying to research luftwaffe light flak units right now for a reenacting impression. Could I trouble you for pictures of your soldbuch? Reference material on luftwaffe soldbuchs is somewhat rare. (and yes, I am very very close to buying a real flak 38, woohoo!) Can you decipher what unit he was in and where he fought? Any info would be appreciated

Thanx!
Tim

Hi Tim,

No problem at all! This particular Wehrpass (not a Soldbuch) has plenty entries concerning his active service and Battle sotry. The most impressive thing is that this guy fought in Anzio!!!

So, here are some images. If you need something else, let me know!

Douglas.

Tim,

I believe that this is the page you most want to see: the units where heserved. The most important was the 3.(lei.)/Flakabteilung 99 (mot.) where he stayed for the longest time. Note the last date: 15.05.1945!!

His combat sheet.
Very impressive and detailed.
Probably finished while he was a POW in Italy.
