Are you serious Xavier, pic. 1 an leFH18? I think it's a 15cm sFH36 in one of it's variants. It was supposed to be light enough to be horse drawn in one piece ie short barrel and some light alloy components.

Help to identify artillery

I have doubts about the first howitzer, the gun barrel same too short to be the sFH18 (3.805 mm; the sFH40and sFH 18/40: 4.875 mm;) and the muzzle brake is different of the one used in the sFH 18M. Maybe this gun was modified after the war due a gun barrel rupture or ?.

Joan, can you take photos of the chamber and around, maybe we could see any reference (numbers proofmarks...), thankyou

My best regards

Antonio

Yes Antonio, that might just be why I said I thought it was an sFH 36, not an 18.

The carriage of the sFH 36 is very different, and also the muzzle brake, I think that this is not a sFH 36, look to these photos (from Lexikon der Wehrmacht),

http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Waf ... msFH18.htm
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Waf ... msFH36.htm
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Waf ... msFH40.htm
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Waf ... H18I40.htm

note the lenght of the barrel compared with the gun in Joan's photo, also the muzzle brake of the sFH 36 (sFH 18M similar).

My best regards

Yes, Antonio. After posting that, I had serious doubts. I wonder if it's a post war tube and shield of non-German origin.

Hi,

I would guess the first one is some kind of post war modification of 150 mm Schwere Feldhaubitze 18. Shield and barrel do not look original.

Best regards,

Jari
