Hello pgu

And welcome to this topic of Axis History Forum !!!

Excellent pictures from Hanstholm, one of Denmarks most interesting places concerning bunkers of the Atlantic Wall.

Hope to see more from you here, or other places back home in Denmark. It is always nice to meet a "fellow bunkerfreak" !! :D

Send PM if you want to "bytte frimærker" !!!!! ( Exchange informations )

Regards
Kurt

Hanstholm - Ammo Lift.

I don't think that this is a lift. I mean that this is a hatch which brings the charges and shells from the ammo-rooms to the ammunition corridor around the gun pit.

It's constructed in such way that is has double-doors and only one door can be opened at a time. This should prevent that in case of a fireburst in the corridor will not spread to the ammo-rooms.

Correct me if I'm wrong !

Hello Peter

Your absolutely correct - lift is a wrong word to use - as you point out it is bringing the shells from the inside of the bunker through the wall out to the ammo carriage and then to the lift to the gunroom or panzerturret.

But anyhow - you are the Expert om Hanstholm, so you schould know :D

Please show us more from Hanstholm.

Regards
Kurt
