IAR81C fitted with 210mm Mortar?

In May 1944 to enhance it's capabilities to counter allied bombers one IAR81C was fitted witha German Werfer-Granate 210mm mortar.

Does anyone have details on this hybrid?

The IAR-81C no. 429 (see its profile on my website in the Units/2nd Fighter Group section) was fitted with these and tested at the end of May and beginning of June. I have not found any info on its operational use, but I will "dig" some more.

It looks like the launchers were taken off after the tests. Another two airplanes in the 6th Fighter Group were supposed to be equipped with launchers at the beginning of July. I do not know if they were used in combat and the person I asked has found anything in the archives yet, but he also thinks that they wee not, because the launchers diminished the already poor high-altitude performance of the IAR-81C.
