Here a other markings on the gun turret of the M.Fl.B. Ottendorf ( Kiel ) , with 5 fighters and 4 bombers shot down .

Found a document on the twin 12.8 cm Flak 40 M battery's at Kiel ( Osterby and Schilksee ) .

If it was gun then I would tell that those are markings of shoot down enemy planes but in this case when it is armoured cupola it may mean detected/traced machines which later were shoot down but this battery.

17 planes shot down is a tally definitely too high for a single battery.
I'd rather go for marking every action taken against enemy planes, when target was acquired and fired at.
