88mm FlaK36 firing from the carriage...
Could it fire from the carriage? If it could, what was the traverse? Was the rate of fire affected?

Sorry but that is not correct. It could be fired from the carriage in emergencies, and it was officially allowed!
If it wasn’t allowed then how come that they were told in details how to do it in the instruction manuals?
But in the instruction manuals it says clearly that the outriggers MUST be lowered first before firing and they also carried some large lumps of lumber to put under the outriggers to stabilise them especially for that purpose.
So firing the gun from the carriage did not cause the gun to tilt and it did not affect the accuracy as it was not an automatic weapon. It did affect the firing rate as it was a bit more awkward to load.
