Hi All
Found a German drawing of a 618 with
heizung ,it was to big for one time , so it is in 4 parts.

If the R618 was really built at Gossen, it should still be there, and not belong to the military!
This part of the island has been left more or less untouched exept for a few new houses.
The bunker should be located on the western side of the airfield, between the runways and the sea, approx 4 KM from the radarposition "Glockenblume".
Quite interesting is that only 2 Kilometres from the supposed R618, we found the 3rd Luftwaffe SK Nachrichten bunker in Norway...... This has now showed up on 3 airports which were all declared as "Festungen".

Wouldn`t be surprised if the same was built at Banak. This was blown up in 1944 during the retreat from Finnmark.
The LW SK at Banak is described as "Fernsprech- u. Fernschreibvermittlung", which fits good with what we know about the 3 others.
Still, I have never seen a drawing of the Banak bunker, so it could still be something different.....
When looking at these lists, it seems like Banak could have been a really interesting airport if the bunkers had survived

Hello Patrick
Nice work, it seems that you have covered the "R618 Variante" in your drawings !!!
Now we will have to see if anybody nows - if the different types actually were buildt - as it seems they were not.
Any of you good people have pictures or informations of the R618 in your countries ??
Look at Peter Heijkoop´s listing:
Norway: Gossen, Arendal
Denmark: Silkeborg
Holland (WBN): Schagen, Amstelveen, Hoek van Holland, Dordrecht
Holland (AOK 15): Middelburg, Oostburg
Belgium (AOK 15): Antwerp, Diksmuide
France (AOK 15): Tourcoing, Le Havre
France (AOK 7): Caen, Valognes, Quimperle, La Baule, St.Nazaire
France (AOK 1): Royan, Bordeaux
Another thing, this list gives 20 - and Rudi Rolf says 19 ??
By the way - good to see that you are contributing to the discussion, Patrick. Your drawings on "Bunkers.be" is the tops, and i have had very good use of them !! Keep up the good work - and keep in contact !!
Regards
Kurt

Hi
Reason why this list has 20 is that I incorporated the two in Norway (which Rudi didn't knew when he composed his list).
So, actually.. according to Rudi's list we're still mising a 618 in the AOK 15 territory...
There is a chance that there was also a 618 in Ardres in the divisional HQ...., but this is not confirmed yet as the bunkers (when it's still there) is covered..
