Hello All

Who can help me with this bunker , is a Regelbaut
is it build in other areas , is it a S.K. ????
The entrance defence is typical Westwall .
The drawing is from Service Historique de la Marine
in Vincennes .
The bunker is build at Gonneville ( radar and airfield )
and Hospital de Cherbourg ( no hospital entrances! )
The French Marine called it a Poste de Command
( H.Q. bunker )

Hi Jos,
Have you checked RR's Missing Bunker list to see if one could fit?
To me the bunker looks like a GefStd originally designed for WM, the Lagezimmer in the center is characteristic. I took Adm.Däne V 196 turned it 90 dg and mirror imaged. It is not identical, but there are striking similarities, if the entrance part is redesigned.

Thanks Kurt and SES

I also thought that it was a H.Q. bunker because of the
great rooms in the middle of the bunker and on the
side al the little rooms.
I saw the bunker behind a fence from a great distance ,
because its is still on a French military area.

Hi Jos,
Having looked at a couple of options and had some off-board discussions, I now think that it was the GefStd for a Flak.Abt. Larger important A/F like Grove and Aalb-West had a L 408 A as GefStd for the Flak.Abt. "Your" bunker has a similar size and the large opsroom in the middle is also found in the L 408 A.

Hi michaël
Hi Jos
During the WWII, the Luftwaffe used the airfield called Cherbourg-Théville and the radar station called Tausendfüssler (1 Wasserman FUMG 402 in a L480, 2 Freya FUMG 80 and 2 Würzburg-Riese).

Could you locate the bunker on the map's joint ?

Hello Arnoud

The bunker was on the airfield Theville, from the D 901
you could see the bunker in a hill on the airfield.
This was 15 years ago , I don't know if the bunker
is still there , I have only taken a dia not a foto so I can't
publisch the foto on this site. Did you visit the airfield ?

Regards Jos
